Neo Classic: the spirit of classic basses, FGN's modern precision
The Neo Classic series by FGN draws inspiration from the great historical references of the electric bass, while bringing a modern manufacturing approach focused on consistency, playability, and reliability. The NPB100RAL-3TS embodies this philosophy: a timeless aesthetic, immediate playability, and carefully chosen woods and hardware designed to last.
A versatile bass for progressing, recording, and playing in a band
Thanks to its long 34-inch scale length and deliberately straightforward electronics, this FGN suits serious beginner bassists as well as intermediate and advanced players looking for a "plug and play" instrument. It naturally adapts to styles where the bass must hold the groove: pop, rock, funk, soul, variety, indie, and any context requiring clear low end and a punchy attack.
The sound
The alder body provides a balanced midrange and even response, ideal for achieving a well-grounded bass without losing definition. The combination of maple neck and rosewood fingerboard contributes to a precise attack, with a controlled high end and a pleasant feel for fingerstyle or pick playing. The FGN 62P pickup, paired with a minimalist 1 Volume / 1 Tone circuit, allows quick shaping of the tone: open and percussive to cut through a mix, or warmer by rolling off the tone for deep, smooth lines. This simplicity also ensures excellent consistency in live settings.
Recommended compatible accessories
To maintain the original string tension and feel, choose a set of D'Addario EXL165 45-105 strings (the same as the factory setup), perfectly suited to the 34-inch scale length.
