A baritone in the "Royal Series" spirit: the Nomad charts its own path

With the Nomad, Flight takes up the aesthetic DNA of certain models inspired by the "Royal Series" range, while adding a strong idea: to offer from the start this identity on a baritone format. The result: an instrument with a strong visual character (black binding, black cutaway, distinctive headstock) designed for those who want a deeper, fuller ukulele, naturally comfortable for both accompaniment and melodic playing.

Who is it for, and what styles? A baritone that also speaks to guitarists

The Flight Nomad Baritone is aimed at motivated beginners as well as intermediate players looking for a serious and inspiring instrument, and also at guitarists who want to explore the ukulele world without relearning completely new chord shapes. Thanks to the DGBE tuning, you immediately find familiar positions (the same as the 4 treble strings on the guitar), with a more compact playing feel and a very natural approach for strumming, arpeggio, and fingerstyle.

Regarding repertoire, its range and tone make it an excellent choice for pop, folk, chanson, soft jazz, vocal accompaniment, and even richer arrangements like chord-melody. The cutaway facilitates access to higher frets for more expressive melodic phrases.

A warm and settled sound: full solid mahogany

The sonic heart of the Nomad is its solid mahogany top + back + sides construction. This design favors a warm, round, and mellow tone, with a soft attack and excellent coherence across the spectrum. In baritone format, mahogany provides a very musical balance: present but controlled lows, rich mids (ideal for carrying chords), and never harsh highs, perfect for singing playing.

The lutherie and hardware reinforce this sense of control: the rosewood string-through bridge optimizes string tension and stability, while the compensated saddle improves intonation across the entire neck. The bone nuts (headstock and bridge) support attack precision and definition, and the rosewood fingerboard offers a smooth feel conducive to nuances. The gloss finish highlights the wood grain while giving a "premium instrument" sensation right from the first touch.

Recommended compatible accessories

To maintain the same sound balance and feel, you can plan for a replacement set of Flight Custom Baritone Strings (original baritone strings). A chromatic tuner is also a safe choice to get the best out of the DGBE tuning daily. The Flight Deluxe Gig Bag and the Flight humidifier are already included to protect the instrument and stabilize the wood over time.
