A Premium Signature Designed within the Royal Series
The Peter Moss Signature was born from a collaboration between Flight and Peter Moss, a British musician and educator renowned in the ukulele world. Initially conceived as a concert-size model, it was later developed in tenor format to meet the demands of musicians looking for greater ease, more presence and increased fullness under the fingers.
Within the Flight range, it sits in the Royal Series, a family of instruments focused on selected materials, meticulous construction and more ambitious luthiery choices. This model incorporates several features appreciated on other notable Flight instruments, such as the sculpted cutaway, through-body bridge and signature headstock, while asserting its own visual identity with its Moonburst Stain finishing.
An Electro-Acoustic Tenor Ukulele for the Demanding and Versatile Musician
With its all-solid construction, 19-fret tenor format and built-in electronics, this Peter Moss Signature is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced musicians, as well as highly motivated beginners who want to invest directly in a serious instrument. This is a logical conclusion based on its specifications and its position within the Royal Series.
It is particularly well suited to melodic playing, refined accompaniment, fingerpicking, modern solo work and amplified acoustic performance. The tenor format provides a more comfortable playing feel for hands accustomed to slightly roomier necks, while the cutaway facilitates access to the upper frets for more elaborate arrangements.
A Balanced, Precise and Naturally Singing Voice
The tonal character of this electro-acoustic ukulele is built around a highly effective combination of tonewoods. The solid spruce top provides attack, definition and impressive projection, while the solid mahogany back and sides add warmth, body and an immediately pleasing richness. The expected result is a balanced tonal range, with clear highs, singing mids and a dynamic response that remains expressive in both strumming and nuanced playing.
The rosewood key and bridge also contribute to this sense of tonal maturity, gently smoothing the high frequencies while preserving beautiful harmonic density. The through-body bridge, a hallmark of the Royal Series, promotes efficient vibration transfer to the top, supporting the instrument's overall resonance and sustain. Finally, the sculpted cutaway maintains an elegant aesthetic without making the instrument feel as though ergonomics came at the expense of its design.
When plugged in, the Double C1U active pickup preserves the model's acoustic character while providing a discreet and practical solution for the stage, rehearsals or home recording. The volume and tone controls, together with a battery indicator, make everyday use simple without adding a bulky preamp to the instrument's side.
