A Resurrected Hootenanny: Framus Heritage Serving an Icon
Preserving an identical 12-string Hootenanny in their Framus Vintage museum, the teams meticulously recreated the 6- and 12-string models respecting the original specifications. This project, conducted with the approval and collaboration of the Lennon estate, brings back an iconic guitar designed to appeal both to musicians and collectors sensitive to the history of instruments linked to the Beatles universe.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
The Framus Hootenanny 6-string targets beginner to intermediate guitarists seeking comfort (flat fingerboard, wide nut) and advanced musicians looking for an acoustic with vintage character and immediate inspiration. Its "round-shoulder" dreadnought format and tonal balance make it very comfortable in folk, pop, vocal accompaniment, gentle to moderate strumming, and warm picking, featuring a distinctive sonic personality thanks to the trapeze tailpiece and adjustable sliding bridge.
Sound Characteristics
The combination of a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides produces a clear yet never harsh response, with rich mids and a very flattering natural warmth. The classic bracing (spruce braces) promotes even projection and musical sustain, while the compact body helps maintain a "focused" and balanced sound. The duo of trapeze tailpiece + height-adjustable sliding bridge reinforces the vintage identity: a round attack, strong presence, and a very lively dynamic feel under the fingers.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original gauge and balance, you can stick with the supplied string set D'Addario XTAPB1253 (012-053). For transport and protection, the dedicated Hootenanny Hard Case is the recommended choice, designed specifically for this guitar.
