A Modern Trombone Designed for Versatility

The tenor slide trombone is one of the pillars of brass sections, equally at ease in orchestra, marching band, and contemporary music. This double bore configuration fits a modern approach to the instrument: it aims for a balance between ease of sound production, note stability, and sound breadth, without the demands of a wider, more physically demanding trombone. The choice of a lacquered finish supports this goal: protecting the instrument, stabilizing its appearance, and maintaining a consistent feel, rehearsal after rehearsal.

For Which Musicians and Styles

This trombone is especially suited to advanced beginner to intermediate musicians seeking a reliable and evolving instrument, but it also works well as a workhorse trombone for intensive use (music school, wind band, brass band, big band). Thanks to its tenor format and 190 mm bell, it covers a wide range of styles: classical (intonation and legato work), pop and film music (round and effective sound), jazz (good attack, clear articulation), or marching band (direct and clear projection).

Sound, Response, and Build Quality

The double bore 12.2 mm / 12.4 mm directly influences the breath sensation: the instrument responds quickly while allowing the sound room to develop as the air column is pushed. The result: easier sound production in the midrange, better support when increasing volume, and a sense of continuity between registers.

The brass bell provides a classic tonal color: warm, singing, with controlled brilliance. Its 190 mm diameter promotes a present sound without becoming overpowering, helping to blend within a section while maintaining identity. The lacquered finish contributes to surface protection and durable aesthetics, practical for transport and regular use.

The slide is a key point on a trombone: here, the outer slide in maillechort and the chrome-plated inner maillechort slide aim for precise and consistent glide. Maillechort is appreciated for its robustness and longevity; the chrome plating on the inner part helps limit wear and maintain a stable slide feel, essential for intonation and clean legato transitions.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To get the best from the slide daily, plan on using a trombone slide cream and a water spray (maintenance and glide). A slide swab and a mouthpiece brush are also good allies to keep a clear response and impeccable hygiene, especially with intensive playing.
