A vintage-spirited Hummingbird designed for today's musicians

An iconic model in the Gibson acoustic family, the Hummingbird is known for its immediately recognizable aesthetics and warm sonic personality. This Hummingbird Faded version retains the model's DNA (bone nut and saddle, Hummingbird pickguard, refined hardware) while offering a modern and pragmatic approach: a satin finish that lets the instrument breathe and discreet LR Baggs VTC amplification, ideal for seamless transition from acoustic playing to plugged-in performance.

For whom and for which styles?

The Gibson Hummingbird Faded is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking an expressive acoustic, suitable both for accompanying vocals and recording rich rhythm parts. Its Hummingbird body shape and Gibson signature particularly highlight folk, country, pop-rock, and singer-songwriter styles, with precise pick attack and a nice roundness in fingerstyle playing. Thanks to the LR Baggs VTC system (volume and tone controls located in the soundhole), it becomes a very relevant choice for the stage: quick adjustments, natural sound, and user comfort.

The sound

The Sitka spruce top provides definition, breadth, and excellent dynamic range: the sound opens up as you play, with bright highs and precise response. The mahogany back, sides, and body enhance warmth, midrange presence, and a pleasant musical compression, perfect for rhythm playing. The traditional hand-scalloped X bracing contributes to projection and sustain while maintaining a very expressive "wood" grain. Plugged in, the LR Baggs VTC electronics emphasize an organic reproduction, with simple and effective EQ to stay true to the instrument's timbre.

Recommended compatible accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original feel, favor a set of acoustic strings with gauges 12-53 (0.012 to 0.053). For the stage, a good quality 6.3 mm / 1/4" jack cable is recommended to make the most of the standard output. A strap with classic strap button holes will also be suitable, as the guitar is equipped with a jack output at the strap button location.
