A Slash Signature J-45 Designed with Slash
An iconic Gibson model, the J-45 is here revisited according to Slash's preferences. It captures the spirit of the J-45s he plays on stage, with exclusive attributes from the Slash Collection: "Skully" signature on the back of the headstock, signed truss rod cover (with a blank cover included), as well as dedicated Jim Dunlop picks. The result is a modern J-45, faithful to the DNA of the series while adopting current ergonomic choices.
Who Is It For and What Styles?
This Slash signature J-45 is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a versatile acoustic, comfortable in rock, folk, blues, and ballads. The round-shoulder body shape and comfortable neck facilitate both energetic strumming and fingerstyle arpeggios, while the LR Baggs VTC system ensures faithful plug-and-play reproduction on stage.
Sound
The spruce top provides clarity and projection, while the layered agathis body enhances the warmth of the mids, typical of J-45s. The granadillo combination (fingerboard/bridge) favors a clear attack and good sustain. Plugged in, the LR Baggs VTC pickup faithfully translates the woody tone and dynamics, with a balanced signal that integrates easily into a mix.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To preserve performance and comfort, we recommend a set of phosphor bronze 13-56 strings (original gauge), an acoustic strap with headstock attachment, a clip-on tuner, and a body humidifier to stabilize humidity. These accessories are universally compatible with this guitar.
