An Icon Born in 1958, Revived by the Custom Shop
Introduced in the pivotal year 1958, the Les Paul Junior "double cutaway" made its mark on rock stages with its minimalist recipe and powerful projection. The Custom Shop here revives the original formula with exemplary respect: unlightened solid mahogany, aged nitro "VOS" finish, and nickel hardware to recapture the response, tone, and feel of the vintage models.
For Which Musicians and Styles?
Designed for rock, hard rock, punk, and blues guitarists seeking a straightforward and responsive instrument, this Junior suits intermediate to expert players. Its simplicity also inspires determined beginners: one volume, one tone control, and all dynamics are managed by fingers and pick.
The Sound
The P-90 Dog-Ear bridge pickup delivers meaty mids, gritty highs, and tight lows, ideal for cutting through the mix without weighing it down. The CTS 500K potentiometers and Paper-in-Oil capacitors provide harmonic openness and exemplary smoothness in volume and tone control. The mahogany body/neck combination and wraparound bridge offer natural sustain, percussive attack, and excellent note hold-from snappy cleans to dense overdrives.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
* Nickel string set 10-46 (original gauge) to preserve wraparound tension balance and tuning stability. * Standard guitar strap in leather or fabric: compatible with classic strap buttons. * Capo for 6-string electric guitars suited for a 12" radius. * Microfiber cloth for safe maintenance of the nitro finish.
