The Beginning of the "Burst" in All Its Authenticity

The '58 marks the rise of the Les Paul sunburst. This Custom Shop reissue follows historical methods (long tenon, selected glues and woods, aged nitro finish) to offer the aesthetics and feel of the originals. Its solid maple top, unique to each instrument, and one-piece mahogany body restore the iconic tonal balance of the late 1950s.

Designed for demanding guitarists, collectors, studios, and stages. It excels from blues to classic rock, including vintage hard rock, warm jazz, and country. The short 24.75" scale length facilitates bends, while the thick neck provides precise control and exemplary note sustain.

Sound

The Custombucker Alnico III unpotted pickups deliver an airy attack, smooth highs, and singing mids, with the typical "bloom" and natural compression characteristic of PAFs. The mahogany/maple combination and ABR-1 + aluminum stopbar hardware enhance sustain and tuning stability. The CTS 500 k pots paired with Paper-in-Oil capacitors offer a wide range of tonal adjustment: from a pearly clean to an organic crunch just by adjusting volume and tone controls. The 3-way selector switch provides classic combinations, from warm neck to biting bridge tones.
