A Les Paul Studio designed to get straight to the point
For years, the Les Paul Studio has been Gibson's answer to guitarists who want the essentials of a Les Paul: serious craftsmanship, a glued neck, and a rich sound, while staying focused on performance rather than ornamentation. This refreshed version retains the model's DNA while adding player-oriented improvements such as Ultra Modern weight relief and more flexible electronics thanks to push/pull controls.
For whom, and for which styles?
The Gibson Les Paul Studio Ebony is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a guitar with character, capable of handling both stage and studio. It excels in rock, hard rock, blues, pop, and metal (depending on the amp), while remaining versatile enough for cleaner styles thanks to the coil tap. Its SlimTaper neck will especially suit those who like fast profiles for riffs, bends, and licks high up the neck.
The sound
The mahogany duo (body + neck) and maple (top) deliver the typical Les Paul cocktail: dense mids, nice thickness, and a more precise attack brought by the maple. The glued neck promotes generous sustain and a "compact" feel under the fingers. The Burstbucker Pro pickups provide a modern Gibson tone: dynamic, rich in harmonics, with good saturation response. The push/pull volumes (coil tap) add a palette of clearer, sharper sounds, handy for switching from heavy crunch to more open rhythms without changing guitars.
