From Studio to Modern Studio: An Evolution Designed for Stage and Studio

For years, the Les Paul Studio has attracted guitarists seeking the essential Les Paul sound with a cleaner aesthetic. The Les Paul Modern Studio takes this formula further by incorporating elements from the Modern range: Ultra Modern weight relief, ebony fingerboard with compound radius, sculpted heel, and more versatile wiring. The result: an efficient Les Paul, ready for recording and touring, with a sober look in Worn White and a satin nitro finish.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

This Les Paul is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists looking for a guitar capable of covering many styles without complications. The 490R and 498T pickups and the split and phase functions make it comfortable in rock, hard rock, blues, pop, and alternative, with a real ability to switch from heavy drive to crisp, defined sounds for rhythm parts.

The Tone

The mahogany body and maple top deliver the classic Les Paul balance: rich mids, solid low-end density, and a more precise attack thanks to the maple. The 490R (neck) and 498T (bridge) humbuckers cover a wide range, from warm and singing to sharp and powerful, with generous sustain supported by the Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. The push/pull controls add real options: the coil tap opens up the sound for airier textures, the phase adds scooped colors, and the pure bypass offers a more direct signal path for a more immediate response.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

A soft case is included. The guitar is strung with .010 to .046 gauge strings: to maintain the original feel and balance, use this gauge when replacing strings. A Gibson accessory kit is included.
