The Essentials to Know About the Gibson Les Paul Studio Double Trouble Dirty Lemon Burst Guitar

  • Immediately recognizable "Double Trouble" look: Exposed Burstbucker Pro pickups with "Double Classic White" coils for a confident stage presence.

  • True Les Paul Studio DNA: mahogany body with maple top, glued mahogany neck, and generous sustain, without unnecessary embellishments.

  • Modern comfort: mahogany body with "Ultra Modern" weight relief to reduce fatigue during long sessions.

  • Versatility at your fingertips: push/pull on each volume for coil-tap, and 3-position selector to switch from thick humbucker tones to finer textures.

A Les Paul Studio Designed for Efficiency... with a Bolder Attitude

For decades, the Les Paul Studio has catered to guitarists who want the essentials of the Les Paul concept: a dense and singing tone, solid attack, a glued neck that promotes resonance, and mahogany/maple craftsmanship that has become a standard both in the studio and on stage. This Les Paul Studio Double Trouble version follows this "no-nonsense" philosophy exactly, while adding a strong visual signature: Burstbucker Pro pickups left uncovered, with clear "Double Classic White" coils. The result: a Studio that remains understated in spirit but stands out immediately under the spotlight, especially in this Dirty Lemon Burst finish. Offered as a limited run, it targets musicians who want a personal Les Paul, not "just another one."

Who Is It For, and What Styles?

This Les Paul Studio Double Trouble suits both intermediate and advanced guitarists looking for a reliable, direct, and versatile instrument. The SlimTaper neck profile facilitates fast transitions, extended chord positions, and modern lead playing, while the 22 medium jumbo frets and 12" radius encourage clean and controlled bends. Style-wise, it feels at home in rock, hard rock, blues, pop, punk, and metal (depending on amp and gain), while remaining credible in more nuanced genres thanks to the coil-tap. It's typically a "right-hand" guitar: it responds to attack and dynamics, shifting from massive riffs to more open playing without changing instruments.

The Sound

The tonal foundation is based on an iconic wood duo: mahogany body and maple top. Mahogany brings warmth, low mids, and a "thick" quality that fills the mix, while maple adds clarity, attack, and definition, useful for keeping chords clear and leads cutting through the mix. The glued mahogany neck enhances vibrational continuity between neck and body: you get long sustain, a note that "sings," and a very pleasant response on vibratos.

The Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups are designed to combine power and articulation: enough output to drive a saturated channel without losing punch, while retaining dynamics when rolling back the guitar's volume. The 3-position selector allows quick switching from the neck pickup (round, full, ideal for blues/rock solos or smooth cleans) to the bridge pickup (more incisive, perfect for riffs, harmonics, and cutting leads), with a very useful middle position for balanced crunch tones.

The real strength of this Studio Double Trouble is its player-oriented electronics: each volume knob features a push/pull coil-tap. This lets you access finer, more "single coil" textures, handy for arpeggios, snappier rhythms, or layering in recording. Add to that two independent tone controls: enough to shift from an open, biting sound to a warmer tone without touching the amp.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To fully enjoy this electric guitar, you can safely pair it with universal accessories: a good quality 6.35 mm jack cable, plectrums suited to your attack, a tuner (pedal or clip-on), and a stable guitar stand for storage. The guitar comes with a Soft Shell case, convenient for transport and rehearsals.
