A Modern Classic by Godin: The Arena Spirit
The Arena series by Godin focuses on handmade nylon string electro-acoustic guitars with a refined classic aesthetic. The detailed rosette, custom varnish finishes, and pronounced cutaway give this Arena Flame Maple CW EQ a true identity: a "classical" designed for today's musicians, with playability and stability that go beyond usual standards.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
This Godin is especially aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want the nylon feel without sacrificing comfort on the upper neck or amplification requirements. It suits modern classical, fingerstyle, bossa, latin, acoustic pop, and studio/live contexts where a simple, quick, and clean sound capture is desired. The cutaway also makes it very comfortable for arrangements and melodies played in the upper registers.
Sound Characteristics
The solid spruce soundboard delivers precise attack, beautiful definition, and a wide dynamic range, particularly appreciated when fingerpicking nylon strings. The flame maple back and sides enhance clarity and articulation, often producing a more direct and defined sound, ideal for standing out in a mix. The combination of rosewood fingerboard and bridge contributes to overall balance by adding warmth and a smooth feel under the fingers. Finally, the double-action truss rod (rare on a "classical") ensures remarkable neck stability and lasting setup, useful when alternating between home, studio, and travel.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
The guitar comes with a case, so you're ready for transport. For other accessories (nylon strings, strap, attachment system), compatibility depends on your preferences and the exact format of the attachment points: it's best to choose on a case-by-case basis according to your usage.
