An Accessory Dedicated to Stereo and Spatialized Configurations
Designed for demanding studio setups and classical recording, this central bridge facilitates the clean and stable integration of a "Centre" microphone within an L/C/R array. It fits into a modular system around the SB-30 and SB-66 stereo bars.
For Whom and For What Uses?
Ideal for sound engineers seeking a more precise image and better center stability during recordings of orchestra, choirs, piano, or ambiances. Maintaining the common angle between the center and lateral microphones helps preserve phase coherence and perspective.
Rail Mounting and Synchronized Tilt
Once fixed on the rail, the central bridge allows the center microphone to maintain the same vertical orientation (z-axis) as the left/right microphones, which is practical when the entire stereo pair is tilted toward the source.
Warning: not to be used alone and requires a compatible stereo bar.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Grace Design coupling bar compatible with the SB-30?
Compatibility is designed for the Grace Design coupling bars SB-30 and SB-66. The mounting is done on the compatible bar's rail.
Can a center microphone be installed in a Decca tree?
This central bridge allows adding a "Center" microphone in an L/C/R configuration of the Decca tree type. It is intended for recording orchestras, choirs, piano, or ambient sounds.
Can the coupling bar be used alone?
Using it alone is not intended: this accessory requires an SB-30 or SB-66 coupling bar.
Does the center microphone follow the tilt of the side microphones?
When a tilt on the z-axis is applied to the left and right microphones, the center microphone maintains the same vertical orientation. This synchronization keeps a common angle within the L/C/R array.
What thread pitch is used on this coupling bar?
The indicated standard is BSW (British Standard Whitworth), with a 3/8-16 thread pitch. This data concerns the mounting of the central bridge on its compatible system.
