A Discreet Accessory for a Clear Sound, Without Compromise
The Gruvgear FretWraps is a professional string dampener designed for all guitarists and bassists who want a cleaner, more controlled signal that's easier to record. By positioning it around the neck, you effectively cut unwanted resonances and vibrations from unplayed strings, improving note clarity and reducing string noise, especially with distortion, heavy compression, or high-gain settings.
Its adjustable strap lets you finely tune the pressure: from a light control of harmonics to a stronger muting for demanding passages. And when you no longer need it, simply slide it quickly onto the headstock to keep it within reach without interfering with your playing.

Questions frequently asked
FretWraps Large: compatible with which guitars and basses?
The Large size is suitable for 6-string basses as well as 7- or 8-string guitars.
Does the Gruvgear FretWraps String Muter reduce noise with distortion?
The strap placed around the neck reduces sympathetic resonance and vibrations of unplayed strings. Noise control is especially effective with high-gain settings, distortion, or heavy compression. This can improve note clarity during recording.
How to adjust the pressure of the FretWraps?
An adjustable strap allows controlling the pressure applied to the strings. A light adjustment controls harmonics, while tighter pressure increases muting.
Is it necessary to modify the neck to install this string muter?
No tools or instrument modifications are required to install this accessory.
Can the FretWraps be left on the guitar between takes?
When not in use, it can slide onto the instrument's headstock. This storage position keeps it within reach for two-hand tapping passages or situations requiring greater control.
