Summary of This Method
Today's best way to practice Blues! This method is designed as a true playing workshop to develop your sound, your timing, and especially your ease in improvising over the blues. You will find easy-to-read lead sheets and professional-quality playbacks, perfect for practicing both at home and in lessons.
The interactive audio interface accessible online allows you to adapt each piece to your current goals: slow down to secure the groove, gradually speed up, or loop a passage to reinforce a difficulty (form, chord changes, transitions, turnarounds, etc.). You can also mute or activate each instrument to create your own training context (for example: remove the solo instrument to simulate the situation, or isolate the rhythm section to work on time). A follow-along marker on the lead sheet helps you stay perfectly in form.
For even more guided learning, the melody is performed by saxophone or trumpet on the "head in" and "head out," which facilitates assimilation of the theme and articulation before giving full space to your choruses. The full stereo tracks can also be downloaded for offline playing.
Included repertoire: All Blues, Back At The Chicken Shack, Billie's Bounce (Bill's Bounce), Birk's Works, Blues By Five, C-jam Blues, Mr. P.C., One For Daddy-o, Reunion Blues, Turnaround.
