Summary of This Method
Designed to practice jazz "as if in a real situation," this method combines clear lead sheets and studio-quality accompaniments to immediately put you in optimal playing conditions. The interactive audio interface allows you to adjust the tempo without losing the groove, loop a tricky passage, and especially mute certain instruments to focus on a specific skill: playing the theme, comping, walking bass, rhythmic placement, or improvisation.
The visual cue on the lead sheet facilitates sight-reading and section transitions, while the melody played by a saxophone or trumpet at the beginning and end helps to clearly "set" the form. The complete stereo tracks can also be downloaded for offline practice, useful during rehearsals, lessons, or between concerts.
This volume includes 10 songs: Blue Train (Blue Trane) - Central Park West - Cousin Mary - Giant Steps - Impressions - Lazy Bird - Current Opinion - My Favorite Things - Naima (Niema) - Syeeda's Song Flute.
