Summary of This Method
This blues guitar method offers 55 complete solos, inspired by the major styles of the blues, to learn the "real life" of blues playing: making a progression sound, telling a phrase, and naturally linking ideas. Each piece is constructed as a coherent solo performance, where you simultaneously play the accompaniment (bass lines, chords, rhythm) and the lead melody. It is ideal for developing independence, groove consistency, and the ability to carry a piece without other instruments.
As you progress through the pieces, you enrich your vocabulary: licks, turnarounds, vamps, typical phrases, and the art of "gluing" ideas together. The method covers a range of essential blues guitar techniques, such as scale descents, double-stops, bends, as well as the use of passing notes and transition chords to add more color to the harmony. The demo CD serves as a valuable audio reference to capture phrasing, nuances, and that special swing that makes all the difference in the blues.
