What Harrison Micro Glide Is For

Harrison Micro Glide is a softening and enriching plug-in designed to enhance the foreground elements of your production: lead vocals, guitars, melodic synths, strings, electronic leads, or subtle choirs. Its goal is simple: to help a track "cut through" the mix with more clarity, warmth, and texture, while preserving the musicality and intelligibility of the original signal.

In a modern mixing context, where dense arrangements can quickly mask important details, Micro Glide helps create a sense of width and depth that naturally draws the ear. It is useful both in production (sound design, setting up a lead) and mixing (highlighting, finishing, subtle spatialization), on an individual track or a bus dedicated to main elements.

Main Features

Two pitch-shifted voices for organic width

The core of Micro Glide is based on generating two offset voices relative to the original track: one above and one below. By blending them, you get a soft and natural harmony, with a wider stereo impression and increased depth, without sounding artificial. This approach is especially effective on vocals and solo instruments, as it enhances presence without requiring double tracking.

Detune: from subtlety to pronounced effect

The Detune parameter allows fine adjustment of the pitch difference between the two voices. At low settings, you get a discreet thickening, ideal for adding body to a vocal or stabilizing a lead instrument in a busy arrangement. Pushed further, Micro Glide becomes a creative tool: more obvious harmonization, sense of movement, a "wider" character, perfect for synth leads, atmospheric guitars, or hooks designed to dominate the chorus.

Delay: depth, vibration, and spatial sensation

The Delay setting adds a temporal offset that enhances the dimension and "life" sensation of the signal. Used subtly, it brings brightness and depth that help the sound breathe. More pronounced, it can introduce a stronger vibration and more obvious spatialization, useful for giving a lead more breadth without resorting to complex chorus or intrusive reverb.

Wet/Dry: quick, musical, and reliable blending

The Wet/Dry control is essential for integrating the effect into the mix precisely. It allows preserving the attack and intelligibility of the original signal while adding just the right amount of processing. Whether you seek a simple modulation touch to "polish" a track or a more characteristic effect to give identity to a main theme, this setting facilitates a coherent result without overloading the overall balance.

Creating a focal point in the mix

Beyond widening, Micro Glide serves to prioritize your production. By adding contrast and variety to key elements, it guides the listener's attention to what matters: the lyrics of a vocal, the melody of a lead instrument, or the motif carrying the emotion of the piece. It is an excellent ally for finalizing a track and achieving a more polished sound, especially when you want a lead that is present, soft, and expressive.
