Summary of This Sheet Music
This revised edition brings together an essential selection from Johann Sebastian Bach's keyboard repertoire: the 24 preludes and fugues BWV 846 to BWV 869. Designed for solo piano, the work offers a comprehensive journey through the keys, with a musical progression that highlights the richness of Bach's writing: articulation, voice leading, balance of sound layers, and rhythmic precision.
Each "prelude and fugue" pair represents a particularly stimulating study ground: the prelude develops technical ease, continuity of gesture, and a sense of musical breathing, while the fugue strengthens polyphonic reading, mastery of legato, and understanding of entries, answers, and stretto. This sheet music is suitable both for daily practice (warm-up, concentration, style) and for preparing auditions, exams, or recitals.
Contents: Prelude and Fugue BWV 846, 847, 848, 849, 850, 851, 852, 853, 854, 855, 856, 857, 858, 859, 860, 861, 862, 863, 864, 865, 866, 867, 868, 869.
