A first violin inspired by great standards

With its Stradivarius style, this Hérald takes up the most iconic lines of classical lutherie, appreciated for their overall balance and playing comfort. The idea is not to imitate a master instrument, but to offer a real student violin with a refined design, built with consistent woods (spruce and maple) and a learning-oriented approach. In an entry-level range, this design choice mainly aims at a simple goal: allowing the student to work seriously with a stable instrument over several years before considering an upgrade.

For whom and for what uses?

This Hérald violin in 1/16 size is primarily intended for beginners, especially young musicians whose size requires a fractional instrument. It is perfectly suited to start with the basics: good bow hold, intonation in the first positions, ear training, and regular practice at home. Its "affordable price" positioning also reassures families: investing in a serious instrument without immediately committing to a very high budget, while keeping the possibility to play for several years if motivation persists.

Regarding repertoire, it is comfortable with fundamentals: studies, pedagogical pieces, first classical pieces, and traditional music played in a learning context. The essential point at this level is to have an instrument that responds properly and does not hinder progress with a too poor sound or approximate craftsmanship.

Sound quality

The solid spruce top is a key point: spruce is known for its ability to vibrate easily, which helps achieve a clearer sound emission and better sensitivity to nuances, even with a right hand still developing. The maple back and ribs provide stability, projection, and a clearer sound structure, useful for working on intonation and attack quality.

The combination of solid spruce and maple gives a generally clear and balanced character, suitable for study: the student hears better what they are doing, and the teacher has a more reliable basis for correction. The mahogany fingerboard offers a pleasant touch and contributes to overall comfort, an important point on a small size where ergonomics must remain simple and reassuring.

Recommended compatible accessories

For regular use, you can plan for rosin (essential for the bow hair to grip the strings) as well as a set of 1/16 violin strings for replacement, to anticipate natural wear from practice and repeated tuning.
