Heritage Audio I73 Pro 2

An interface designed as a portable "73 channel strip" within the Heritage Audio range

With the i73 PRO 2, Heritage Audio brings its "studio" approach into a compact USB-C format, focusing on what makes its reputation: a 73-style preamplification section, class A, paired with a transformer. The goal is clear: to offer an immediate analog feel at recording, without relying on a complex external chain. Continuing the brand's 73-style preamps, it offers multiple input paths to adapt to the source (voice, guitar, bass, line), while maintaining a consistent sonic signature.
The major evolution of this PRO 2 version lies in the deeper integration of the built-in mixer and the internal DSP: whereas a typical USB-C interface merely converts and sends the signal to software, the i73 PRO 2 becomes a true control center, capable of managing monitoring, routing, and real-time processing directly within the interface.

For what uses and profiles is the i73 PRO 2 made?

The Heritage Audio i73 PRO 2 targets musicians, producers, and sound engineers who want to capture takes with studio quality and a deliberate analog color, whether in a home studio, mobile session, or lightweight setup. Thanks to its combo mic inputs and Hi-Z DI, it is suitable for recording vocals (condenser mic with +48 V, dynamic mic with high gain) as well as direct guitar or bass input, with a fast and dynamic response.
The low-latency mixer, combined with Mono, Mute, and DIM functions, facilitates daily work: vocal tracking via headphones, re-recording, overdubs, or simple control during a session. The ability to create an independent mix for speakers and another for headphones provides immediate comfort, especially when recording while directing the artist.

Class A preamps, DSP, and routing: a true console experience without complicating your workflow

Three input approaches, one philosophy: the take above all

As with Heritage Audio's 73-type preamps, the i73 PRO 2 offers input options that adapt the signal path to the source: MIC for mic inputs with high gain, DI JFET for a responsive instrument input, and LINE for line-level sources. This flexibility helps keep a clean, well-gained signal that is immediately usable in mixing.

Built-in low-latency mixer: listen to what you need, at the right level

The internal mixer is designed so monitoring remains smooth and precise. The benefit is not only reduced latency but also the ability to organize listening like in a control room: one mix for monitors, another for headphones, and quick control via dedicated functions (Mono, Mute, DIM). The result: less time navigating menus and more time recording.

The PRO 2 novelty: real-time DSP processing and DRY/WET capture

The i73 PRO 2 goes further thanks to its internal DSP: track processing can be done in real time within the Heritage Audio mixer, using modeled tools derived from the brand's external hardware collection. To secure your takes and maintain full freedom at mixing, you can simultaneously record the DRY and WET signals from the mixer to your digital audio workstation.
Another workflow-oriented highlight: it is possible to insert third-party native plugins via the mixer's auxiliary channels. This way, you build an inspiring listening environment for the artist (and yourself), while keeping a modern production flow compatible with MacOS and Windows.
