An "Integrator" Approach: The SI Series and the Role of the P10i / P10j in the Range

With the SI "system integrator" series, HK Audio develops a family of speakers whose priority is not only sound quality but also coverage control and ease of integration into installation projects. The P10i and P10j stand out with very precise directivity characteristics, allowing sound dispersion to be adapted to the geometry of a venue, its reverberation, and the operational requirements of a fixed system.

This "installation first" philosophy is also reflected in the standards-oriented design and the announced compatibility with voice alarm systems, a key point for many public venues. Finally, the extensive finish options (up to forty colors) facilitate visual integration in environments where aesthetics matter as much as performance.

Who Are the HK Audio SI P10i / P10j For?

The SI P10i / P10j are primarily aimed at integrators, site managers, and design offices looking for an installation speaker capable of long-range projection while precisely controlling the energy directed towards ceilings and walls. This profile is particularly relevant in large volumes (high-ceiling rooms, public spaces, places of worship, halls) where excessive vertical dispersion can increase reverberation sensation and reduce intelligibility.

They are also suitable for outdoor applications requiring range and controlled dispersion, as well as installations where consistent coverage from zone to zone is essential. The choice between P10i and P10j allows adjustment of dispersion according to the configuration without multiplying compromises.

Directivity and Design: Choosing Between P10i and P10j Based on Your Installation

Two Vertical Directivities for Tailored Control

The main difference between the two versions concerns vertical directivity. The P10i offers a vertical coverage of 5deg, designed for very tight control and focused projection. The P10j provides 15deg, offering a wider vertical opening when the installation or listening area requires more overlap.

Horizontal Coverage: Zone Width and Uniformity

Horizontal directivity also varies: 100deg for the P10i and 120deg for the P10j. In practice, this allows modulation of the coverage width depending on distance, spacing between dispersion points, and the shape of the area to be sound-reinforced.

P10j: Mechanical Asymmetric Projection Without Onboard DSP

The P10j stands out with an asymmetric projection. Its J-shaped design directs sound downward through a mechanical design, without using an onboard DSP. This choice aims to orient acoustic energy suitably for certain installations, especially when prioritizing the listening area while limiting sound towards non-useful zones.

Line Array Speakers: Efficiency in Reverberant Venues and Outdoors

The line array speakers calibrated for narrow vertical directivity are a major asset of the P10i / P10j. This approach improves adaptation to large spaces with long reverberation times, helping maintain cleaner dispersion and better intelligibility. The same principle applies outdoors, where range and coverage consistency become critical.
