HK Audio L9-118SA

LINEAR 9: HK Audio's range tailored for demanding performances

Designed and manufactured in Germany, the LINEAR 9 series represents the top tier of the LINEAR family at HK Audio. The goal is clear: to offer a system ready for rental and event use, capable of withstanding operational constraints while ensuring a consistent response from one setup to another. The LINEAR 9 118 Sub A fits this logic with a modular approach, deployment optimization, and sonic coherence to build a scalable system according to venue size and desired sound pressure level.

For performances, touring, clubs, and events

The HK Audio LINEAR 9 118 Sub A is aimed at contractors, technicians, stage managers, and touring crews who need an active subwoofer that is easy to integrate, quick to adjust, and reliable day-to-day. It is also well suited for clubs, multipurpose venues, and corporate events where a present but clean bass is expected, without overwhelming the stage or complicating setup.
Its compactness facilitates transport, storage, and setup, and its design allows pairing with various satellites to compose a powerful front-of-house system, a bass extension for an existing system, or a modular configuration that adapts to the venue. In practice, it is a low-frequency reinforcement tool designed to keep up with your pace: rigging, soundcheck, recall of settings, and moving on.

Network, DSP, and cardioid presets: a workflow designed to save time

Centralized settings and system consistency

Thanks to networking, each speaker can be configured and controlled remotely via a dedicated app. You can access DSP parameters to harmonize the overall sound, adapt the response to the venue, and save settings. This approach provides real comfort during shows: you standardize your workflow, reduce last-minute "by ear" adjustments, and achieve better repeatability from event to event.

A cardioid mode easy to implement

The 118 Sub A includes cardioid presets that simplify managing low-frequency energy. The benefit is immediate on stage and in live contexts: limiting what "bleeds" into microphones, reducing bass buildup behind the system, and improving clarity. The result is a cleaner and more controlled bass sensation, particularly appreciated in reverberant rooms, compact stages, and configurations where sub placement strongly influences overall balance.

Professional power supply and mains distribution via PowerCon-Link

The PowerCon connectors secure power supply in professional environments. The PowerCon-Link allows rational mains distribution from the subwoofer to the rest of the system: a tangible advantage to reduce cabling, speed up setup, and keep the stage neater. From a fleet management perspective, it is also an efficient way to industrialize cabling and limit connection errors during quick setups.

Tour-grade construction and Class D amplification

The birch plywood enclosure and polyurethane coating are designed for intensive use: handling, loading, stacking, and transport stresses. The latest generation Class D amplification prioritizes efficiency and reliability while remaining consistent with current contractor needs: available power, DSP integration, and stable operation over time.
