The Ibanez AE Series: The Modern Chapter of Acoustic-Electric Guitars

Rooted in a strong acoustic guitar tradition, the Ibanez AE100-DBF belongs to the AE series, presented as the brand's flagship acoustic-electric range. The goal is clear: to preserve the acoustic DNA while providing contemporary solutions for comfort, playability, and amplification, meeting the demands of today's musicians both on stage and in the creative process.

Who Is This AE100-DBF For?

Thanks to its shallow body depth and neck designed for smooth playability, this guitar is well suited for motivated beginners as well as intermediate players seeking a versatile and comfortable acoustic-electric. It excels in pop, folk, variety, vocal accompaniment, and fingerstyle playing, with reliable direct input for stage and rehearsal.

Sound

The solid Sitka spruce top provides clarity, definition, and a generous dynamic range, while the okoumé back and sides promote a balanced response with present mids and even projection. The X-M bracing and AE shape (low depth) enhance comfort without sacrificing responsiveness, and the A.I.R port improves sound perception for the player. When plugged in, the T-bar under-saddle pickup combined with the AEQ-TP2 preamp (with built-in tuner) delivers a mix-ready signal, with simple controls to quickly adapt to the stage.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original specifications, favor D'Addario XTAPB1253 strings with gauge .012/.016/.024/.032/.042/.053. For transport, the recommended hard case is the FS40DA and the recommended gig bag is the IAB540-BK. The electronics require 1 x 9V battery and the guitar features balanced XLR and 6.35 mm (1/4") jack outputs.
