A Redesigned Baritone AE, Tailored for Modern Acoustic

Launched in 2016, the AE series was designed to meet the demands of today's acoustic guitarists, balancing precision, comfort, and reliability on stage. The AE275BT embodies this philosophy with notable lutherie improvements, notably through the XM acoustic bracing and a lighter scalloped bridge, engineered to efficiently transmit vibrations and enhance overall resonance. The result: a guitar with a contemporary look but a decidedly "performance" DNA.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

The Ibanez AE275BT targets intermediate to advanced musicians seeking a versatile, stable, and expressive baritone electro-acoustic. Its long scale length accommodates low tunings (and pick playing) comfortably for alternative rock, modern pop, ambient, bass-rich fingerstyle, and studio accompaniment. On stage, its magnetic pickup system is designed to remain natural and responsive, with excellent feedback control.

Sound Characteristics

The solid Sitka spruce top delivers attack, definition, and precise highs, while the okoumé (back and sides) promotes a warm and even response in the midrange with a present low end. The XM bracing (scalloped X) helps the top vibrate freely and project more efficiently, enhancing note clarity and balance across the entire range. With its baritone scale, the AE275BT produces a full low end, a firmer tension feel, and naturally longer sustain. Plugged in, the Ibanez AP11 Magnetic Pickup aims for transparent, dynamic reproduction compatible with effects (reverb, chorus, etc.) while maintaining presence and mids.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

For transport and protection, the manufacturer recommends the Ibanez IAB724-BK case/bag. To maintain the original string gauge and balance, consider a replacement set of D'Addario EXP23 strings (gauges .016 / .022 / .029 / .048 / .060 / .070).
