In the Lineage of Ibanez's Modern AZ Series

Designed for contemporary playing, the AZ series emphasizes ergonomics, manufacturing precision, and electronics tailored for both stage and studio. The AZ2204 embodies this philosophy with comfortable body contours and easy access to the upper frets thanks to the Super All Access Neck Joint, while maintaining a balanced tonal foundation suitable for various styles.

An All-Terrain Electric Guitar for the Demanding Musician

This Ibanez is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a responsive, accurate, and versatile instrument. It excels in pop, rock, funk, fusion, indie, and blues, offering real ease for precise rhythm parts as well as leads. Its stability and clarity make it an excellent partner for rehearsals, recording, and live performances.

Sound Characteristics

The alder body provides a natural balance, with present mids and a consistent response that allows playing nuances to come through clearly. The Seymour Duncan Hyperion (single-coil) pickups prioritize definition: sharp attacks, sustained lows, and controlled highs, helping to keep notes clear under gain. The 5-position selector combined with the " Alter " mini-switch expands the palette by offering 9 tonal textures, including denser combinations close to a humbucker-like vibe, while retaining the instrument's articulate character. In terms of feel, the Gotoh T1802 supports attack and sustain, while the roasted maple S-TECH WOOD neck promotes quick response and good stability against temperature and humidity changes.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain original tension and balance, a set of D'Addario EXL110 strings in 10-46 gauge is recommended (mounting gauge). For transport, the Ibanez IGB724-BK gig bag is the recommended reference for this format. A 6.35 mm jack instrument cable (straight or angled) ideally completes the setup for reliable connection to your pedals and amplifier.
