An AZ Prestige "N": The AZ DNA with a More Organic Approach

Designed in the spirit of the AZ series (modern precision, "S-style" feel, and reliability), the "N" variant emphasizes mechanical contact and expressiveness: non-recessed tremolo cavity for solid body contact, carefully voiced pickups, and premium Gotoh components. The AZ2204NW positions itself as a Prestige model tailored for demanding guitarists seeking a responsive, stable instrument that is immediately usable both in the studio and on stage.

Who Is It For and What Styles?

This Ibanez is mainly aimed at advanced intermediate and expert players looking for a versatile electric guitar capable of handling funk rhythms, pop cleans, rock crunch, and more modern tones with great attack precision. Its ergonomics (pronounced contours, access to high frets via the "Super All Access" joint) and tuning stability make it an excellent partner for long sets, dynamic changes, and current techniques (legato, controlled bends, expressive vibrato).

The Sound

The alder body provides a natural balance with present mids and excellent clarity, while the rosewood fingerboard softens the attack and rounds off the upper spectrum for silkier highs. The Seymour Duncan "Fortuna" pickups offer a moderate output and a very dynamic response: nuances of playing are preserved, from light picking to more aggressive attacks. The dyna-MIX9 multiplies combinations: you can switch from bright single coils to denser series modes close to a humbucker without losing articulation. The Gotoh T1702B tremolo (brass block and saddles), combined with the non-recessed cavity, promotes immediate resonance, clear sustain, and a fast, precise, and musical tremolo feel.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

The guitar comes with a hard case. To maintain the indicated feel and tonal balance, you can stick with D'Addario EXL110 10-46 strings. If you prefer a lighter daily solution, the Ibanez IGB724-BK gig bag is listed as compatible with this format. A good quality standard strap will complete the setup for standing play.
