Part of the Bass Workshop program, the BTB865MS condenses Ibanez's "high-end luthiery" approach within the BTB family: carefully selected materials, neck-through construction, and modern finishes. It is designed as a 5-string multi-scale bass for demanding bassists who want a reliable professional instrument without the price of custom models.

Perfect for intermediate to expert players, this bass excels in metal, djent, progressive rock, fusion, modern gospel, and studio work. The multi-scale design provides exemplary intonation and articulation in the lows, while the BTB ergonomics and active/passive electronics suit fingerstyle, pick, and slap playing equally well.

Tone

The T1 humbucker pair delivers tight lows, present mids, and clear highs. The Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ, combined with the 3-position mid selector, allows fine-tuning of the critical mix area. In bypass mode, the treble control becomes a passive tone for a more organic grain. The ash/okoumé top and wings add attack and definition, while the neck-through construction and panga panga fingerboard promote sustain and instant response.
