Sound Characteristics

The African mahogany body, combined with a chambered construction, delivers warm lows, rich resonance, and a lighter, more lively instrument. The 9-piece Panga Panga / walnut neck with graphite reinforcement rods enhances stability, attack, and sustain, while the stainless steel frets add precision and long-lasting brightness. The multi-scale design (35" on the low end) contributes to a firmer and better-defined B string. On the electronics side, the Nordstrand Big Split pickups combine richness and punch with a balanced output, and the 3-band Vari-Mid EQ allows you to select the mid frequencies to shift from a dense, modern tone to a more open register. The EQ bypass enables passive operation, with the treble used as a passive tone control.
