The FRH Designed as a Bridge Between Two Worlds
The FRH10N-IBF embodies the concept of a modern nylon-string guitar, designed for guitarists who appreciate the precision and accessibility of a solid body without sacrificing the tone and dynamics of nylon strings. Its compact and slim format, neck joint at the 16th fret, and access to the upper frets make it a particularly natural instrument for switching from electric to nylon, both on stage and at home.
For Which Guitarists and Styles
This Ibanez is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists (and motivated beginners) who want an easy-to-play nylon guitar with familiar reference points. It excels in acoustic pop, Latin, fingerstyle, film music, soft jazz, and vocal accompaniment. Thanks to its design limiting feedback and its electro system, it is also very suitable for live performance and home studio use.
Sound Characteristics
The solid Sitka spruce top provides clarity, precise attack, and a good dynamic range, while the sapele back and sides tend to enhance the midrange and projection with a warm texture. The modified hollow FR body combined with the fan bracing promotes a quick response and balanced sustain, typical of nylon-string instruments. The absence of a sound hole on the top reduces feedback sensitivity, and the side sound port improves the musician's direct perception of the sound. When plugged in, the guitar relies on a T-bar undersaddle pickup and Ibanez Custom electronics for a defined output, ideal for both pick and finger playing, with a very practical mute switch between songs.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay within the original specifications, prefer D'Addario XTC45 strings (gauges indicated below). An Ibanez IGB540-BK gig bag is recommended by the manufacturer for transport. The electronics require 2 CR2032 batteries (to be kept as spares).

Is the neck suitable for a player coming from folk or electric guitar?
The nyatoh neck has a C-shape profile, a 400 mm radius, and a 46 mm nut width. Its joint at the 16th fret, combined with a cutaway, facilitates access to the upper registers.
What strings are fitted on the FRH10N-IBF?
The guitar comes factory-fitted with D'Addario XTC45 nylon strings.
What is the tonal character of this guitar?
A solid Sitka spruce top provides defined attack and dynamic response. The sapele back and sides support warm mids, suitable notably for fingerstyle and vocal accompaniment.
Which gig bag and batteries are compatible?
For transport, the recommended reference gig bag is the Ibanez IGB540-BK. The electronics operate with two CR2032 batteries.
