The FRH10NL in the Ibanez Family: Nylon in the "FR" Format
The FRH series transfers the ergonomics and aesthetics of Ibanez "FR" electric guitars into the nylon-string world. The FRH10NL holds a central place in the lineup with its solid top, slim body, and simple yet effective electronics designed for uncompromised comfort on stage and in the studio.
Who Is It For and What Styles?
Ideal for left-handed electric guitarists seeking nylon sound without losing their familiar feel, it suits motivated beginners to intermediate/advanced players. Perfect for bossa nova, jazz, pop, folk fingerstyle, and worship, as well as accompaniment in home studios or on stage with controlled volume levels.
Sound Characteristics
The solid Sitka spruce top provides projection and clarity, while the sapele enhances the midrange with controlled brightness. The fan bracing promotes the responsiveness and sustain typical of classical guitars. The slim body limits unwanted resonances and, combined with the absence of a soundhole, greatly reduces feedback. The piezo under the nut delivers the precise attack of nylon strings; the AEQ210T preamp (2-band EQ, tuner, and phase) allows quick adjustment of bass/treble and optimizes feedback control live.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
Install a set of D'Addario XTC45 strings (original) to maintain the touch and tonal balance, protect the instrument with the Ibanez IGB540-BK gig bag (compatible size), and keep a spare 9 V alkaline battery for the preamp.
