An FRH Format Designed for Modern Nylon
The FRH20QMN follows a very contemporary approach: offering a nylon-string guitar in a compact format, designed for amplified playing and immediate comfort. Its modified hollow FR body, combined with a typical classical fan bracing, retains the "nylon" identity while providing familiar ergonomics for players coming from electric guitars.
For Whom and Which Styles?
This Ibanez is aimed at beginner to intermediate guitarists who want to switch to nylon strings without adopting a very wide neck, or electric players seeking softer tonal colors. It excels in pop, latin, fingerstyle, jazz, and vocal accompaniment, with real ease on stage thanks to its anti-feedback design and built-in tuner.
The Sound
The torrefied maple top provides precise attack and great definition, while the sapele back and sides enhance warmth and presence in the midrange. The nyatoh neck contributes to a rounded response, pleasant for accompaniment. The fan bracing helps maintain a natural nylon character, and the side sound port improves the musician's perception of the acoustic sound. When plugged in, the FRH20QMN relies on the undersaddle pickup for faithful reproduction and the AEQ210T preamp (volume, bass, treble, phase inversion) to quickly shape the tone according to the venue or amplification system.
