An AZ Signature Designed for Stage and Studio
Developed in collaboration with Lari Basilio, the Ibanez LB1 belongs to the AZ family, known for its contemporary ergonomics, meticulous finishes, and intelligent electronic solutions. This signature version pushes the modern "S-style" concept even further with a wood selection focused on attack and articulation, premium Gotoh hardware, and a strong visual identity with its violet finish, designed to feel at home both in the home studio and on tour.
For Whom and Which Styles?
The LB1 is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a precise, responsive, and highly versatile electric guitar capable of switching from percussive cleans to saturated leads without losing definition. Its 25.5" / 648 mm scale length, compound radius, and stainless steel frets promote reliable intonation, clean bends, and controlled vibrato, suitable for funk, melodic rock, pop, fusion, and gospel/worship genres.
Sound Characteristics
Ash provides a sharp attack, tight lows, and excellent note separation, ideal for syncopated rhythms as well as rich chords. The torrefied S-TECH WOOD maple neck and fretboard enhance clarity, projection, and immediate response feel, while the Gotoh tremolo with brass block adds body and solid sustain. Regarding pickups, the S-S-H Seymour Duncan configuration offers a vintage, full-sounding neck single coil (Alnico 5/4 blend), a bright and very usable middle single coil in intermediate positions (Alnico 5/2 blend), and a bridge humbucker Alnico 5 focused on attack and clarity from clean to high gain. The dyna-MIX9 combines a 5-position selector and the Alter Switch to access 9 combinations, including series wiring for thicker textures and humbucking-like tones, perfect for covering a full set with one guitar.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
For transport, the Ibanez IGB724-BK gig bag is recommended. The instrument comes with a hard case included. To maintain the original feel and tension, use D'Addario EXL110 strings with a 10-46 gauge (factory setup).
