Resulting from the long-term collaboration between Ibanez and Steve Vai, the PIA3761C continues the JEM universe while modernizing ergonomics and aesthetics. The traditional handle is replaced by the integrated "Petal Grip," which is more discreet and fluid in the hand, while the "PIA Blossom" inlays assert the model's artistic identity. Made in Japan with the Prestige spirit, it aims for manufacturing precision and playing comfort suited to the demands of stage and studio.

A Guitar Designed for Shred, Prog, and Modern Techniques

The Ibanez PIA3761C targets intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a fast neck, stable intonation, and a wide sonic palette. It excels in progressive rock, melodic metal, fusion, and shred, providing an ideal playground for legato, tapping, and controlled vibratos. The scalloped fingerboard from the 21st to the 24th fret enhances the feeling of mastery in the upper registers, especially for bends and expressive attacks.

Sound

Its alder body delivers a very musical balance, with clear mids and firm lows, helping the guitar stay defined in the mix even with high gain. The rosewood fingerboard adds natural warmth and a less aggressive attack, while the scalloped area (frets 21 to 24) promotes note control and expressiveness in the upper neck. Regarding pickups, the DiMarzio UtoPIA HSH set combines two passive ceramic humbuckers (sharp attack, solid sustain) and a passive alnico single coil in the middle (smoother and more articulate cleans). The 5-position selector multiplies textures, and the push/pull high-pass filter on the volume helps maintain clarity when lowering the output level. Finally, the Edge double-locking tremolo completes the setup with smooth response and excellent stability.
