Essential Information About the Ibanez UICT100 Ukulele
- Electro-acoustic tenor ukulele with an "Iceman" look: an iconic silhouette designed for both stage and home use.
- Ibanez AEQ2U (AEQ-2UT) preamp with built-in tuner: quick adjustment of volume and EQ (bass/treble) without external accessories.
- Side sound port: better sound perception for the player, ideal for working on dynamics with fingerpicking or pick.
- Selected woods: spruce top, okoumé back/sides and neck, purpleheart fingerboard/bridge for a warm, precise, and balanced tone.
An "Iceman" Variation in the Ibanez Ukulele Range
With the UICT100, Ibanez transfers its bold aesthetic to the tenor format, adding decidedly modern choices like the side sound port and full onboard electronics. The result: an original instrument, immediately recognizable, that stands out both for its playing comfort and visual presence.
For Whom and Which Styles?
Thanks to its tenor format (longer scale length and generous neck), the Ibanez UICT100 is particularly suitable for intermediate players and motivated beginners who want a more "guitar-like" feel and comfortable access to the upper frets (24 frets). It adapts very well to pop, folk, vocal accompaniment, fingerstyle arpeggios, and more pronounced strumming with a pick, with the possibility to plug directly into amplification.
Sound
The spruce top provides projection, attack, and clear articulation, helping the instrument remain clear in standard tuning (1A, 2E, 3C, 4G). The okoumé back and sides reinforce a warm and woody character: soft and round when fingerpicked, more incisive and bright when strummed. The purpleheart fingerboard and bridge add rich mids and crisp highs for precise balance. When plugged in, the undersaddle pickup and Ibanez preamp allow quick adjustment of response (bass/treble) and discreet tuning via the built-in tuner.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To get the most out of the electronics, a 6.35 mm (1/4") instrument jack cable is essential for connection. For identical replacement, choose Aquila Nylblack tenor strings (same type as original equipment) and have CR2032 batteries (x2) ready for the preamp/tuner. A carrying case is already included.
