Requirements According to License Type
This EDU (education) edition is reserved for eligible users according to the manufacturer's conditions. Proof may be required at purchase or activation (for example: valid student ID, enrollment certificate, proof of employment at an educational institution, or equivalent official document). Please ensure you have a current document in your name, in accordance with the requested criteria.
What is iZotope Insight 2 For?
iZotope Insight 2 is an audio metering plugin designed to visualize, analyze, and secure your mixing decisions. It is aimed at producers and sound engineers as well as professionals in post-production (dialogues, sound effects, music for picture) and broadcast, where loudness compliance and voice intelligibility are essential.
Thanks to its complementary views (level, spectrum, stereo image, surround), Insight 2 helps you quickly detect imbalances: excessive bass, harshness in the highs, dialogue masking, mono incompatibilities, or inconsistencies between surround channels. You gain speed, coherence, and reliability whether mixing for the web, television, or immersive formats.
Main Features
Seven visualization modules for instant reading
Insight 2 brings together a multimeter structured around seven modules, allowing you to switch from macro control (levels and loudness) to detailed analysis (spectrum, spectrogram, correlation, spatialization). The goal: understand what you hear and verify that your content will translate correctly on other listening systems.
Loudness and level measurement for compliance
The level module combines peak and RMS, and loudness measurement complies with ITU-R BS.1770-1, ITU-R BS.1770-2, ITU-R BS.1770-3, and EBU R128 standards. For broadcast projects, you can also use loudness overshoot automation to automatically generate automation data compliant with loudness intensity requirements.
Intelligibility Meter for dialogue clarity
Voice comprehension depends as much on level as on spectral masking and context. The Intelligibility Meter indicates the probable coverage of dialogues and offers recommendations to optimize levels. This is a major asset for podcasts, documentaries, fiction, and web content, where intelligibility must remain stable even at low volume.
Spectral analysis and 2D or 3D spectrogram
The spectrogram displays frequency evolution over time in 2D or 3D, useful for spotting persistent resonances, intermittent noises, or processing artifacts. The spectrum analyzer offers various zoom options to quickly isolate a problematic area (for example, a buildup in the low-midrange or harshness in the upper spectrum).
Vectorscope, correlation, and stereo image control
The Vectorscope provides several modes (balance meter, polar diagram, polar level, Lissajous) and a correlation meter to validate stereo coherence, anticipate mono compatibility, and monitor mix stability. This is particularly useful when using stereo wideners, reverbs, and Mid/Side processing.
Surround Scope and multichannel support up to Dolby Atmos 7.1.2
For multichannel environments, the Surround Scope allows visualization of level relationships among surround channels and immediate identification of any channel that is too prominent, too weak, or inconsistent. Insight 2 supports multichannel up to Dolby Atmos 7.1.2, making it a reliable tool for quality control of mixes intended for theaters, platforms, and immersive installations.
Cross-plugin communication via iZotope Relay
Insight 2 can rely on iZotope Relay for cross-plugin communication with compatible iZotope products, facilitating the integration of metering at the heart of complex projects (heavy sessions, multiple stems, group buses, and post-production workflows).
