What is Nectar 4 Advanced For?

Nectar 4 Advanced is a solution dedicated to vocal mixing and design for contemporary music, pop, rap, electro, rock, voice-over, and podcasting. The goal: to achieve a stable, clear, and musical vocal in the mix, while maintaining fine control over pitch, dynamics, sibilance, breaths, and space (reverb, width). Thanks to its modules, you can work on both an ultra-present lead vocal and a set of backing vocals and harmonies without wasting time stacking disparate plug-ins.

Main Features

13 voice-dedicated modules, from corrective to creative

This upgrade gives you access to a set of 13 modules designed to handle all stages of modern vocal production: Pitch, Backer, Voices, Auto-Leveler, Dynamic EQ, Breath Control, Saturation, Reverb, Dimension, De-Esser, and more. You can build a complete chain within Nectar or load only the module you need, track by track.

Auto-Leveler and natural level management

The Auto Level module is designed to achieve consistent volume while preserving a natural dynamic behavior, with a minimum of artifacts. Useful for stabilizing a home-recorded vocal take, smoothing an uneven verse, or facilitating downstream compressor work.

Intelligent cleaning and transparency

ALM Tame Noise analyzes the signal spectrally to distinguish what belongs to the voice and what is noise. The result: a more musical treatment, useful for reducing disturbances without "muffling" the timbre. The Breath Control module complements this by reducing breath noises while preserving the vocal color, helping to maintain clear diction in a dense mix.

Vocal Assistant and references for faster workflow

Vocal Assistant generates AI-based suggestions from a reference recording, speeding up the setup of a coherent sound within minutes. Combined with Audiolens, it becomes possible to automatically analyze a vocal and adjust the level by matching reference vocals, a great asset for achieving a "radio ready" sound without guesswork.

Harmonies, doubling, and choirs on demand

The Voices module allows generating artificial vocal layers and harmonies via presets or MIDI control, ideal for thickening a chorus, creating stacking effects, or quickly testing arrangement ideas. Meanwhile, Backer creates background vocals with eight selectable styles or from user-provided reference recordings, to build credible choirs adapted to your aesthetic.

Dynamic EQ and real-time resonance control

Dynamic EQ includes a Follow-EQ mode that detects and compensates for problematic resonances in real time. This is particularly effective on vocals recorded in untreated rooms or on aggressive areas (nasality, harshness in the upper midrange) that appear only on certain words.

iZotope ecosystem and frequency unmasking

Communication between iZotope plug-ins allows for frequency-dependent unmasking and better mix transparency. Practically, you gain clarity between the vocal and instruments occupying the same spectral area, so the vocal stays upfront without pushing the volume.
