In the JS range, the Dinky Minion JS1X carries the Jackson DNA: a sharp design, performance-oriented ergonomics, and a strong character sound. Its reduced size makes it an excellent travel guitar, but also a very serious alternative for guitarists who want a snappy electric guitar that is easy to handle and fast to play.

The JS1X is aimed both at beginners who want a motivating and comfortable guitar and at intermediate players looking for an effective "small" guitar for everyday use. With its HH configuration and 3-position selector, it easily covers rock, hard rock, metal, and all saturated tones requiring punch, while still being capable of cleaner and more precise sounds.

The Tone

The poplar body provides a balanced and dynamic response, ideal for maintaining clarity under distortion. The pair of high-output Jackson humbuckers (ceramic magnets) delivers a dense grain, with sharp attacks and solid mids: the neck pickup favors singing leads and silkier highs, while the bridge pickup adds bite and definition for cutting rhythms. The string-through fixed bridge enhances note sustain, sustain, and tuning stability, for a stable and efficient guitar in standard tuning as well as aggressive playing.

To get the best out of the JS1X, you can opt for a set of nickel-plated steel electric strings .009-.042 (same gauge as original), a strap compatible with standard strap buttons, and picks (for example medium to heavy thickness) to fully exploit the attack and precision of the humbuckers.
