Essential Information About the Jet Guitars JPB 300 NBLR Satin Blue Bass

  • Torrefied woods (torrefied poplar body, torrefied Canadian maple neck) for better stability and a drier, more precise response.

  • Modern playing comfort with a "Modern C" neck profile, rosewood fingerboard, and 12" / 304.8 mm radius: ideal for chaining grooves and movements without fatigue.

  • Dual PB-style pickups and simple electronics (2 volumes, 1 tone) to quickly carve your place in the mix, from vintage warmth to a sharper bite.

  • Useful premium details: bone nut and double-action truss rod for reliable adjustment, season after season.

JPB 300: A Modern Take on a Classic Standard Within the Jet Range

The Jet Guitars JPB 300 embodies the spirit of the "PB" basses that shaped the history of rhythm sections: obvious ergonomics, straightforward electronics, and an immediately usable sound. In the JPB series, this "300" version emphasizes playability and stability, notably through the use of torrefied woods, while maintaining a classic aesthetic enhanced by a bold red tortoise pickguard and a satin blue finish that catches the light without overdoing it.

Who Is the Jet JPB 300 For?

With its 4-string format and 34" / 863.6 mm long scale, this bass is tailored to electric playing standards: solid foundation, reliable intonation, and a familiar feel under the fingers. It is well suited for beginners seeking a serious first bass that is easy to set up, as well as intermediate players looking for a versatile instrument for rehearsals, home studio, and stage.

In terms of styles, the JPB 300 is comfortable in rock, pop, punk, funk, and R&B: the attack can remain round and deep to support the band, or become more aggressive to cut through a dense mix. The access to tone is intentionally simple, allowing you to switch from "laid-back" to "incisive" without getting lost in complex settings.

Sound: The PB Character with More Placement Options

The heart of this bass is its 2 PB-style pickups configuration. This design favors a full low end and a solid low-midrange, perfect for anchoring the drums and keeping a clear line. The 2 volume controls allow you to finely balance each pickup's contribution: favoring one gives you more focus and dynamics; blending them broadens the spectrum and enhances presence.

The tone control acts as a very effective musical tool: open, it brings out attack and definition (useful for pick playing or ghost notes); closed, it rounds off the high end for a more "old school" sound. The choice of a torrefied poplar body contributes to a responsive feel, while the torrefied maple neck adds clarity and stability, with a neck feel often perceived as more "mature" to the touch. The rosewood fingerboard helps maintain a softer, more musical treble, which balances very well a bass designed to stay singing without becoming harsh.

Finally, the combination of a bone nut and a 2-point bridge with 4 saddles supports tuning stability and note sustain, especially on lines requiring sustain and consistent attack. The result: a bass that responds quickly, locks easily into the groove, and remains clear even when the arrangement thickens.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

With its 34" / 863.6 mm scale length, this bass naturally accepts long scale electric bass string sets. A strap (and optionally strap locks if you move a lot on stage), as well as a bass stand, are also smart choices to protect the instrument daily. A set of adjustment tools and a microfiber cloth complete basic maintenance and setup nicely.
