The Artificial Blonde was born from a very concrete need: Madison Cunningham used a vibrato constantly and continuously adjusted speed and depth during her concerts. JHS first modified her pedal, then developed this signature model to recreate that slightly "3D" vibrato, always ready, with two settings instantly accessible via a second footswitch.

This pedal is aimed at guitarists who want an expressive vibrato without complexity: from intermediate to pro level, in a compact pedalboard or stereo rig. It excels in modern pop, indie, folk, alternative rock, atmospheric blues, and anything that requires movement without drowning the sound.
Live, the A/B concept is formidable: a discreet "verse" preset and a fuller "chorus/lead" preset, or two calibrated speeds for two songs. In the studio, stereo allows widening a clean rhythm part, giving an organic oscillation feel to a single take, or thickening a part with double tracking.
Features and Controls: Efficiency Above All
The control panel goes straight to the point: Volume (output level), EQ (active tilt), then two pairs of Speed and Depth dedicated to presets A and B. Volume and EQ are global, while each preset has its own speed/depth combination for instant switching.
Regarding footswitches: the left one toggles the effect on/off. When the effect is off, the pedal remains in buffered bypass and sends the dry signal to both outputs, useful for maintaining presence and definition over long cables or in stereo setups. The right footswitch switches between Preset A and Preset B, with Preset B as the default at startup.
The connectivity is designed for a modern pedalboard: one 6.35mm Jack input and two 6.35mm Jack outputs to operate in mono (Mono output) or stereo (Mono + Stereo).
Sound
The Artificial Blonde delivers a pitch vibrato with a very musical character: it "waves" without a gimmicky effect, with a sense of movement that follows the attack and nuances well. At low Depth, you get a subtle shiver that thickens a clean tone and adds relief to arpeggios. Increasing Depth and/or Speed makes the vibrato more pronounced, ideal for vintage textures, dreamy intros, or lead parts that need to stand out in the mix.
The tilt EQ is the secret weapon: it helps keep a balanced sound depending on pickups (bright single coils or denser humbuckers) and the amp. In stereo, the image gains width and a "3D" sensation, perfect for stereo reverbs and delays placed after, or to feed two amps. Madison Cunningham designed it as a "always-on" signature color: an elegant movement that quickly becomes indispensable.
