A "Live" Evolution in the EK Range: More Power, More Robustness
Continuing the EK concept, the Korg EK-50L follows the philosophy of an immediate arranger keyboard: ready-to-play styles, effective sounds, and simple ergonomics to quickly move from idea to performance. This "L" version stands out with a more "field-oriented" approach: enhanced amplification for greater autonomy, rubberized coating designed to withstand transport hazards, and 87 additional sounds compared to the EK-50. The goal is clear: to maintain the user-friendliness of an accessible arranger while offering an instrument more comfortable for playing outside the living room, in rehearsals, or in small venues.
Keyboard Design
With its 61 velocity-sensitive keys and light touch, the EK-50L is suitable both for left-hand chords to control styles and right-hand melodies, simple layers, and splits typical of an arranger keyboard. The 4-way joystick provides quick expressive control (pitch bends and modulation) to energize a lead, synth guitar, or pad. On stage, the backlit control elements facilitate sound and style changes even in low-light environments, allowing you to stay focused on playing.
Sound Quality
The EK-50L relies on a high-definition PCM engine and offers a very extensive sound bank: 790 sounds and 59 drum kits (GM compatible), serving a wide repertoire ranging from pop accompaniments to dance grooves and world music atmospheres. The 290 styles allow you to instantly build rhythmic and harmonic foundations, with intros, variations, and endings to structure your pieces. The 64-voice polyphony ensures solid chord and accompaniment hold, while the 2 x 10 W amplification, combined with two 120 mm dual-cone bass-reflex speakers, delivers clear and punchy sound suitable for standalone performances and rehearsals.
Built-in Effects
- Reverb: to add space and depth to pianos, electric pianos, and pads
- Chorus: to widen and enrich sounds (keyboards, guitars, pads)
- Equalization: to adjust balance and impact according to style and sound reinforcement
