A "Quality and Innovation" Vision by Lanikai
Since 2003, Lanikai has established itself as a recognized brand offering inspiring ukuleles designed both for beginner musicians and demanding performers. This quilted maple series perfectly illustrates this philosophy: high-end aesthetics, selected figured wood, and lutherie details focused on comfort, with a modern approach to electro-acoustic design to meet current usage needs.
For Whom and Which Styles?
This Lanikai concert electro-acoustic ukulele is aimed at motivated beginners as well as intermediate players looking for a versatile, reliable, and rewarding instrument. The concert format is particularly suitable for chord playing, fingerpicking, and vocal accompaniment, while the cutaway facilitates melodies higher up the neck. Ideal for pop, folk, variety, acoustic reggae, and stage performance, especially if you alternate between acoustic playing and amplification.
Sound
The quilted maple back and sides generally provide a clear, precise, and bright response, with good attack definition, highly appreciated for clear rhythms and arpeggios. The concert format helps gain projection and depth compared to a soprano, while maintaining a compact and comfortable playing feel. In amplified mode, the Fishman Kula electronics preserve the instrument's dynamics and shape a sound usable on stage and in recording, while keeping the typical "bright and articulated" identity of this lutherie.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To get the most out of this format, choose a concert ukulele string set (nylon or fluorocarbon depending on the desired feel). A clip-on tuner and a ukulele stand are also safe and universal choices, practical both at home and during rehearsals. The instrument comes with a case.
