Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range

In modern percussion setups, the priority is often the same: save space, improve ergonomics, and reduce the number of stands on the floor. Stand extensions precisely address this need by allowing multiple instruments to be grouped around a single base. This bongo stand extension (upper part) fits into this "smart setup" logic: a dedicated piece for integrating bongos into an existing configuration without adding bulk and while remaining easily adaptable.

Who This Drum/Instrument Is For

This extension is aimed at percussionists from beginners to advanced who want a more stable solution than an improvised placement, and especially faster setup between soundchecks or songs. It is particularly suitable for contexts where every centimeter counts (small stages, brass bands, orchestras, music schools, studios) and styles where players frequently switch instruments: Latin and Afro-Cuban music, pop, variety, world, fusion, or any formation where bongos must remain accessible without interfering with the rest of the set.

Features and New Developments

Designed to be adaptable to an existing stand (for example, a conga stand), this upper part allows adding a dedicated mounting point for bongos without multiplying stands. The result: a clearer setup, neater arrangement, and more consistent stability when playing becomes dynamic.

Its elongated format facilitates adjustment within the setup to position the bongos at the right height and place according to your posture, technique (bare hands or with accessories), and the layout of the other percussion instruments. Note: the extension requires an LP454-type clamp (not included). This point is essential for planning an immediately operational installation.

Sound

This extension does not directly influence the sound "color" as wooden shells would, but it plays a key role in playing comfort and consistency of the output. A rigid and well-positioned mounting limits micro-movements of the stand: you gain precision in attack, control over dynamics, and consistency in the fast strikes typical of Afro-Cuban patterns.

By stabilizing the instrument and optimizing its placement, you also reduce unwanted noise caused by vibrations and hardware resonances. The goal is simple: keep the bongos firmly in place so you can focus on groove, dynamics, and expressiveness.
