With the DAVE 8 Roadie, LD Systems applies its "pro audio in motion" philosophy to an active system designed for performances where quick setup and compactness matter as much as sound quality. In the DAVE range, this configuration combines a compact bandpass subwoofer with two easily positioned satellites to achieve coherent sound dispersion and solid low-end presence, even in limited spaces.

The LD Systems DAVE 8 Roadie targets musicians and small ensembles seeking a reliable portable PA system for rehearsals, showcases, coffee concerts, events, speeches, or as a main system in small venues. Its all-in-one format is also ideal for keyboardists, acoustic duos, and presenters who want to quickly connect a microphone, audio source, and/or instrument without multiple boxes.

Thanks to its specified frequency response of 45 to 19,000 Hz and 60 x 60 degrees dispersion, it aims for clean and intelligible projection, with structured bass from the subwoofer and detailed highs from the satellites. The maximum sound pressure level reaches 117 dB SPL continuous and 123 dB SPL peak, useful for maintaining headroom during dynamic passages.

Connectivity and control: a true "plug and play" logic

The DAVE 8 Roadie stands out for its flexible connections: it offers 3 different inputs, usable simultaneously, to mix multiple sources without hassle. One input uses a Combo connector (XLR / 6.35mm Jack) designed for a dynamic microphone. A second input combines RCA connectors (cinch type) for computers and Combo connectors to connect a mixer, keyboard, or line source. Finally, the third input accepts both a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack and a 6.35mm Jack: ideal for an audio player or an electro-acoustic guitar, with an MP3 / Hi-Z selector to adapt the operation.

Class A/B amplification with protections and stage-oriented settings

The amplification module is integrated into the bass cabinet and operates in Class A/B, powering both the subwoofer and satellites. To secure the system during intensive use, standard protections (short circuit, overload) are included, along with a built-in limiter to prevent overloads and preserve speaker longevity.

Balancing the mix in seconds

Front panel controls allow precise adjustment of the sound: Sub level to control the bass foundation, Main level for overall volume, and dedicated controls for Mic, Line, and MP3 / Hi-Z. A 180-degree polarity switch helps optimize phase according to placement and acoustics, resulting in tighter and better-integrated bass.
