A Rack Tool Designed to Simplify Audio Routing at the Heart of a Modern Setup
The LD Systems LDMS828 belongs to the family of 19" rack signal management tools: devices installed to ensure reliable and faster connections without multiplying boxes. Its approach is straightforward: provide multiple line channels, clear level monitoring, and above all, a functional logic that instantly switches between distribution (split) and summation (mix). The result: a versatile device, relevant whenever the same signal needs to be sent to multiple destinations or neatly combined into a stereo output.
For Whom and For What Uses: Stage, Studio, Installation
In live settings, the LDMS828 is an excellent ally for managing sub-mixes, distributing monitors, feeding recorders, or sending a signal to multiple racks and devices without losing clarity. In the studio, it becomes an efficient line hub to group synths, modules, players, or to distribute a source to various processors. In installations, its rack format, professional connections, and level management make it a stable and easy-to-maintain solution, with immediate visual references thanks to the LED scales.

Questions frequently asked
Can the LD Systems LD MS 828 operate as both a splitter and a mixer?
The 6 mono channels each have a Splitter/Mixer switch, a level control, and a pan control. This configuration allows distributing a signal to the mono outputs or summing multiple sources to the stereo output.
What line connections are available on this rack unit?
The mono channels use 4 XLR inputs and 4 XLR outputs, supplemented by 2 TRS 6.35 mm jack inputs and 2 TRS 6.35 mm jack outputs. The stereo input and stereo output are each provided on 2 XLR connectors.
Are the connections balanced?
All inputs and outputs are electronically balanced, with an input impedance of 50 kOhms balanced and an output impedance of 60 Ohms.
How are levels controlled on the LD MS 828?
Each mono channel features a 6-LED level meter. The stereo section also has 6-LED indicators for both the Main input and the Main output. The Main Input Level and Main Output Level potentiometers allow adjustment of these two levels.
What audio level and power supply does this rack-mount model require?
The frequency response ranges from 5 Hz to 40 kHz, with a maximum input level of 21 dBu and a maximum output level of +22 dBu. The power supply requires 220 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz via an IEC connector, with a power consumption of 15 W.
