A Speaker Designed to Complement the Roadman Ecosystem
Designed as a natural extension of Roadman systems, this passive speaker allows you to increase sound coverage in a room, better distribute sound during a presentation, or reinforce projection during an event. Its principle is simple and effective: connect it to the speaker output of your Roadman system, and you get an additional diffusion point consistent with the architecture and field use of the range.
The connection must be made to the Roadman system's speaker output, respecting the impedance guidelines related to the "SWITCHED" / "UNSWITCHED" outputs: the "SWITCHED" output accepts a speaker with a nominal impedance of 4 Ohms minimum, while the "UNSWITCHED" output requires a speaker with a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms minimum. This speaker, rated at 8 Ohms, naturally fits a safe configuration on the "UNSWITCHED" output.
Intended Uses and Users
This Roadman passive speaker is aimed at users who prioritize reliable, quick-to-install sound reinforcement adapted to mobile contexts: teachers, speakers, local authorities, associations, event hosts, trainers, or musicians needing simple reinforcement for sound diffusion. It is particularly suitable when you want to relocate the sound (back of the room, side area, second room) or improve speech intelligibility by distributing sources rather than increasing volume at a single point.
Thanks to its stand mount (36 mm diameter), you can elevate it to optimize coverage and clarity, especially for vocals. And with its wheels and trolley handle, it remains practical to move, even during repeated setups.
A Simple and Effective Configuration, Designed for Voice and Events
At the heart of this speaker is a 10-inch (254 mm) woofer for lows and mids, paired with a 1-inch (25.4 mm) tweeter. This combination is a proven standard for achieving a good balance between impact, vocal presence, and reasonable size. The ferrite magnets on both woofer and tweeter favor robustness and stability, appreciated in mobile use.
Speaker Connection via 6.35mm Jack
The speaker features a speaker input and a speaker output, both in 6.35mm Jack format. This choice facilitates cabling within a Roadman context, to chain or adapt a simple setup. Be sure to use a speaker cable (not an instrument cable), and to respect the impedance constraints of the sound system to which you connect it.
Sound Level and Frequency Response Suitable for Common Performances
With a sensitivity rated at 95 dB (for 1 W at 1 m) and a maximum level of 115 dB, this speaker is designed to deliver comfortable volume in many situations: speeches, classes, presentations, small musical events. Its frequency response of 70 Hz to 16,000 Hz emphasizes the essentials: clean and intelligible reproduction without complicating the setup.

Questions frequently asked
Is the LD Systems LD Roadman 102 SP compatible with the UNSWITCHED output of a Roadman system?
This passive speaker has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, which meets the minimum requirement for the "UNSWITCHED" output. The "SWITCHED" output also accepts speakers starting from 4 ohms.
What cable should be used to connect this Roadman speaker?
Connection is made via a 6.35 mm jack input for a speaker. A speaker cable is required; an instrument cable is not suitable for this connection.
Is the 10-inch format suitable for vocals and small presentations?
With its 10-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter, the speaker covers a frequency response from 70 Hz to 16 kHz. The sensitivity is rated at 95 dB for 1 W at 1 m. The maximum sound pressure level reaches 115 dB.
Can it be mounted on a speaker stand?
The 36 mm socket allows mounting on a speaker stand to elevate the sound projection.
What are the dimensions and weight of this passive speaker?
Its dimensions are 355 mm width, 610 mm height, and 315 mm depth. The weight is 13.5 kg, featuring a trolley handle and wheels for transport.
