Summary of This Method

"My Very Little Piano Method" is part of the "Le Tout petit Conservatoire" collection and is aimed at children from 5/6 years old who are beginning piano. The guiding principle is decidedly educational and fun: the child progresses step by step, handles, writes, completes, colors, and builds their musical foundations while discovering the instrument.

The method emphasizes visual understanding and immediate practice. Thanks to diagrams, drawings, and photos, the child easily locates where notes are on the staff and how to find them on the keyboard. This staff/keyboard association is essential to establish good reading reflexes without frustration.

Beyond the notes, the first elements of musical language are introduced simply and then used in small pieces: bar lines, rests, dynamics, and tempo indications. The goal is to provide a genuine first culture of solfège, directly connected to piano playing, so that the child understands what they read and hears what they play.

The program covers learning the notes C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C in treble clef, as well as C, B, A, G in bass clef. The whole, spread over 106 pages, offers a reassuring and progressive path, designed for small hands and young readers. Aglaé, the Treble Clef, accompanies the child like a friendly "teacher," which strengthens engagement and regular practice.
