Summary of This Method
To this day, Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) remains one of the most prolific composers for wind instruments, despite being a violinist himself. His Twelve Études-Caprices for Saxophone will enable the pupil to attain brilliant technique on the instrument.
During his training at the Conservatoire de Paris, Bozza won prizes in violin, conducting, and composition, as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He then conducted the orchestra of the Opéra-Comique and became director of the Conservatoire de Valenciennes, while continuing a recognized composing career.
In this collection, each étude aims to prepare the student for the major challenges encountered in advanced saxophone playing: complex rhythms, demanding melodic lines, and fine control of sound parameters.
