Legere SIGNATURE 2 - SSSI2

A Reed Born from Légère Engineering, Between Research and Musical Demand

The Légère range was built around a simple idea: to offer synthetic reeds capable of providing reliable response and consistent acoustic qualities. The brand relies on a scientific approach initiated by Guy Légère (chemist and clarinetist) and Mark Kortschot (composite materials specialist), a collaboration that led to the development of a material designed to combine durability and sound performance. The Signature model stands out in the range due to its specific geometry, designed for musicians who want to project and personalize their timbre.

For Which Musician and Styles?

This Légère Signature reed for soprano saxophone is particularly aimed at intermediate to advanced musicians, as well as soloists seeking immediate response and fine articulation control. It is well suited for stage contexts, but also for studio work, in both classical and jazz, whenever the goal is to achieve a clear, nuanced, and identifiable sound.

Sound and Design

Thanks to its shorter, wider, and thinner design compared to the Classic, the Signature promotes dynamic playing: the response is quick, the attack is precise, and articulation remains free, even at fast tempos. The result is a clear sound, enriched by a generous harmonic spectrum, which helps to "color" the note and assert a strong sonic presence. The synthetic material provides appreciated consistency in behavior, limiting variations in feel throughout sessions.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

The compatibility of ligatures, mouthpieces, and mouthpiece caps depends heavily on the specific model of soprano saxophone mouthpiece used. To avoid any mistakes, it is recommended to choose these accessories based on the exact references of your mouthpiece.
